What breed is this?

maltese
very cute ! i think maltese but it could possibly be a coton de tulear
The little white dog appears to be a Maltese.
maltese or bichon? Either way it's a cutie.
Other than being adorable, looks like a Maltese/Poodle mix. What a sweetie! All the best;~}
Looks like a poodle mix or a bison frise.
Awww... is definitely a pure breed Maltese so cute take care of him/her lol.
it does look a little like a poodle, but could be a coton or a bichon mix. I don't think it's a purebred anything.
Looks like a Bichon
its a Maltese I know a lot about dogs.
maltese.
Looks like a Maltese.

What breed is she?

I figured since I had done this with the other dogs in my household, I would like your opinion on her as well!
What do you think she is??

What a sweetie.sorry not you I mean the dog.
See I love the dogs.all kinds. Anyway I'd have to say I'd put my money on her being a pitbull.
Why are you asking anyway? Don't you know for sure?
Well alls I have to say is I HOPE your treating her good. These (pitbulls) the majority of them are suppose to be good animals. They get messed up because of the owners. I REALLY REALLY HATE THAT SO MUCH. What the f*ck is wrong with people. I mean look at the pictures of her. She's a sweet heart and I hope your not "one those" ignorant people who's bad to there dog. I really hope not, cause I'll be on here talkin about you like a dog if you are someone like that. No tolerance for it at all.
Pit bull. Quite a lot of pit, if not all. That big wedge/block head is a dead giveaway.
I give that tennis ball 3 days to live, max.
To the person who wrote about a woman who "never saw it coming" when her pit attacked her child, sorry but the woman was extremely naive. Her child and surely her dog paid for her naivete. You must be proactive if you own a pit bull, especially if you bring new people (or animals), or children around them. Terriers were bred to go after things that move and things they don't perceive as belonging there, and to do it independently. Pit bulls are terriers obviously -- very strong ones that a child is no match for.
She has some pit bull in her but she is sooo cute! I love the one of her and the ball!
THATS EASY SHE IS " A DOG " wohoo ! i win
pit bull
She is a Red American Pit bull. They are classed as dangerous dogs and there are laws about breeding them. ask your local dog Pound for more information. In Australia, it's illegal to breed them now, and they have to be secured, not loose in your yard. They attack other smaller dogs easily and don't easily tolerate children.
gotta be at least part pit, and all cutie
pie!
I am not so sure. but to my opinion i say its either a Baby Dober. or Golden retreiver or something else... to my opinion i think its one of those 2
looks like some kind of pit bull mix. sorry about the spelling
Pitbull and maybe the slightest hint of lab
Pit Bull and maybe chocolate lab? Not sure but she's ADORABLE
her attraction to the mcdonalds spicy sauce would lead me to say chihuahua
Yeah she looks like a pit bull. And btw she's ADORABLE ^_^
It only took two pictures for me to be sure she's mostly a pitt bull. She's very much a standard for the breed, they are called reds when they look like her.
She's 'mostly pitt bull' but she may have some other dog breed mixed in ... I can't tell her 'size' so can't give you a 'clue' what that breed could be.
Well I hate to be the one to break it to you, but I dont think she is pure blood of just one thing. She looks like a mix between a pit bull, and a bull mastiff, both are beatiful dogs, and she looks like it just might be. She is so beautiful.......
she looks like a purebred pit bul
cute dog
Red nose American Pitt bUll Terrier. She is gorgeous!
She's a "pit bull." As for a specific breed out of the pit bull category I couldn't say. Maybe APBT, maybe a mix of several of the "pit bull" breeds.
I LOVE that picture of her with the ball in her mouth. TOO cute!
she is a pitbull mix. might possibly have boxer in her
pittbull mix. but she is very cute!
It's a Pitt X.
She is B E A U T I F U L, and she is a pitbull terrier, she looks alot like mine!
Jennifer Ruckel never saw it coming, she said on a recent afternoon. One minute she was sitting on her bed talking to her sister Robin, laughing and watching her 18-month-old son Taylor dance on the rug at their feet the next, their 30 seconds of terror began.
With no provocation or warning, the family's 5-year-old pit bull, Molly, suddenly lunged across the room and grabbed Taylor's head in its jaws and began shaking the boy like a rag doll..."The dog just snapped; it changed from a protective, loving dog to a beast within a second," Jennifer said of the March 31 attack.
------------------------------... woman whose three pit bulls fatally mauled an 82-year-old neighbor as she walked a small dog was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison.
Sullivan had been walking her Shih Tzu, Buttons, in her front yard in Partlow when the dogs attacked and killed both.
I would say she is an American Pit Bull Terrier. I'm not sure... but here is a link to a site with some good info on Pit Bulls.
http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/americanpitb...
She looks alot like a Pit Bull. Good luck with your sweet baby! She's really cute!
i think that she is part pit bull and part chocolate lab. i know this for sure, shes adorable!
Thats definitely a red nose pit, and she is absolutely adorable!
she looks like a pit bull mix
Definately a Pit Bull
She is a Pit Bull, red nosed by the looks of it or maybe American Staffordshire Terrier but totally a Pit relative. She is adorable though and if you raise her with a lot of love (which pit bulls eat it up) and train her right (which can be difficult with pits) she could be a great dog. Sometimes they can be mean anyway though, just keep a close eye on her.

We know she's mostly pitbull, I'm just looking for oppinions on what she may be mixed with. Some people have suggested chihuahua because of her buggy eyes %26 bobble head.
At 8 weeks she weighed 3 lbs, 9ish weeks she is 5 lbs %26 is right now the size of a chihuahua (with thicker bone structure).
She has a very skinny tail that usually stands erect (like a chihuahua or jack russels).
She has the boxy muzzle/forhead of a pitbull (standard type, not bull type) but she has these HUGE buggy, slightly protruding eyes %26 domed, bulbus that pitbulls %26 most other large breed dogs don't have.
When she lies down her ears stand up quite firmly which is when she looks most like a chi/small terrier.
Any ideas?
Answers:
i would say she may have some chihuahua in her
color wise she almost looks like a boxer.
boxer
I think a pitbull terrier chihuahua mix is a good possibility. She won't get very big. I told you in your other question I have a bernese collie cross, and she is ten weeks and 14 pounds. She will be about 60 pounds fully grown. Where'd you get her from? What was the mom, how big was she, and what did she look like?

Okay then. If you don't know about her history I'm going to guess she's a boxer mixed with a smaller dog, chihuahua, or even the Jack Russel you said earlier.
What about a boxer, she is marked like one... just a idea.
looks like pit bull boxer tirrer mix

What breed is she?

i got her on holiday were my nan lives and she stays with my nan but what breed is she

She looks like either german shepherd/collie or german shepherd/sheltie mix. If she is a large dog I think she would be mixed with collie, if she is small-medium I would think she is mixed with sheltie.
she looks like a german shepherd or german shepherd mix
puppy german sheperd
She looks like a shepard mix.
Everyone that has answered this is right..she is definitely German Shepherd or German Shepherd mix..but she is a QT!!
german shepherd mix
Looks like some german shepherd in her...how old is she? You could say she is a Heinz 57 too being a street dog
German Shepherd, she looks like. ^^ Probably a mix of some other dog... perhaps some other type of sheperd or terrier... since her ears are more floppy than normal GSD pups. xD
Shes very cute!
there is no way of ever knowing there is no DNA test or anything to determine all the vets I know won't even attempt to try to guess at a breed. It's amix probably and it doesn't matter
got any adult pics? I can definantly see german shepherd.. sometimes its easier to guess on an adult because the coat is in completely then, and features are more defined. Otherwise my best guess is maybe collie.
I'd say a mix of some sort..She might have a little collie in her
There's no way to tell if it is a mix or not until it gets more mature, my uncle breeds German Shepards and they can come in different colors and different coat lengths as puppies so you really can't tell yet, however he/she looks just like some of my uncles FULL BLOOD German Shepard pups.

any guesses ?
Answers:
Dachshund/Min. Pin.
Long dachshund body with dachshund stance and hip area.
Min. Pin. ears. Muzzle more like dachshund. Head a little narrower like min. pin. Neck a little thicker like dachshund. Chest not as deep as dachshund, more like min. pin. Tail set like dachshund.
i would say mini pinsher. i hve seen enough of them in my lif to know one when i see one.
she is a German Shepherd
a super duper cute one!
Looks like a dachshund/beagle mix
My guess is a miniature pinscher mix of some sort. Is that a Yorkie in the first picture?
She has the body and face of a German Shepard, but she definitely has the markings of a Rottweiler. She is adorable.Good Luck with her.
What a cutie... maybe Manchester Terrier mix?
mi pin / rott colors.. closer to size of min pin/ or aussie...
any way, she is cute...
cross between german shepard/husky mix
min pin and some type of shepherd mix
I would guess manchester terrier and maybe a weiner dog? Her face reminds me of a weiner dog, just the features.
Or min pin, manchester terriers are also similar to min pins, so investigate that breed and see what you think.
You will probably never know. So many mixes look like different breads. For here is a picture with my Chi/Rat Terrier mix.

Looks a lot the same don't you think?

What breed is my puppy?

We recently rescued a male puppy from a home where they were keeping at least 50 dogs cages up without food or water. Being that he had such a background, we are unsure what he is exactly. Some people say Jack Russell, others say Pitbull. Actually the 2 vets at the office do not agree...one says he is straight up Pitbull and the other says he is a terrier mix w/o any pitbull in him.
He is approximately 3 months old and 13 pounds. Any ideas?

awll yer dog is cute .
i aint smart %26%26 but it looks like a dalmation =]
lol .
so cuteeee =]
Pitbull/terrier.
He's not a pure terrier, or pure pit.
Awww he's so cute, but he does look like a little terrier, Jack Russel maybe but he does have the terrier look, he's probably a Terrier mix.
For my perspective he looks half pit bull half terrier. BTW he is so cute!
he looks a little bit like a pit bull, terrier, and possibly Dalmatian because of his spots. hes a real cutie though
he's not a pit... so rest easy... if he is 13 lbs already he is not a full jack russell either (they are small dogs) he is a terrier mix could be wire haired with something else.. but terrier / and something
he sure is cute... good luck
He deffianatly a jack russell.
I know jack russells when i see them.
Cute puppy by the way.
not pitbull, def terrier... SO CUTE!!!!! I WANT HIM
maybe a little of both, you'll be able to tell when he gets older.
whatever he is he is adorable!
My guess is he is a terrier mix. Whats his name?
it looks like a jack russel to me.
looks like a pit/terrier mix
I would say a Jack Russell Terrier Puppy Look at this pic. and see if it looks close.
http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory/bre...
http://www.canadogs.com/images/jrtpuppy5...
You will be able to tell more when he gets older. He is really cute though. He also doesn't look 3 months. His coat looks a little ruff for only three months. I am sure he is still soft, but 3 month puppy fur is like one of those soft baby stuffed animal. You can also try to google different mix breeds and see what pictures come up.
pit bull and terrier for sure! it looks really good!! i want it >_%26lt;
given the situation that you got him from, it sounds like he could be a mix of tons of different breeds of dogs all breeding with one another in those conditions. Its really impossible to tell what he is by looking at him, but id venture to say he's several breeds all bundled into one.no less adorable than a purebred though, hes really really sweet looking!
I have a JRT and yours is definetly 1/2 Jack Russel Terrier. You can tell by his classic ears, eyes and nose shape. His feet are a bit wide and back haunches are a little differently shaped. You will be able to tell for sure if he bounces up when he wants something, possibly waist high. Congratulations and bless you for giving a forever home to a rescue dogs. Somehow they know you saved them and spend the rest of their lives trying to pay you back. FYI Jacks follow their nose so please leash them or pick them up before you open the door. They fly. The number one cause of death is getting hit by a car. So be prepared. Mines 11 years old and still bounces and runs for the door.
look at this:
http://www.gotpetsonline.com/pictures-ga...
and this:
http://www.gotpetsonline.com/pictures-ga...
i think these two puppies look identical to yours and they are both purebred pit bull puppies.
Not to mention the cutest darn things ever!!
Terrier mix. I would not say that he has pitbull in him because he does not have the bone structure of that of a pitbull. Very cute little puppy though.
Well he defiantly is not full pit he looks to be part pit bull and part jack Russel or some other terrier breed maybe.
He looks like a JRT. Since he is still so young it will be much easier to figure out when he is grown up.
Poor puppy! At least he has a good home now!
i would say pitbull mixed with dalmatian
He looks part Pointer; but he looks just like a Great Dane in the face; if he has big feet; at the age he is now; great dane could be in his blood.
its definitly a terrier because of the long snout but he probably is mixed with something else
I'd say a cross between mischeviously cute/%26 awfully adorable! Looks a bit like a springer spaniel.

What breed is my puppy?

I recently adopted a puppy from a local shelter and am interested in finding out what breed he is mixed with. All I know for sure is that his mom is a shar-pei. He is a very big boy, growing very fast at 3 months and a little over 30lbs...The people at the shelter said he might be mixed with great dane mainly because of his size, but I also think he looks a bit like a shepherd. So far he's a great dog, he picks up on training very fast and is extremely sociable. I need some other opinions on what he might be mixed with!..I included two pics, hope anyone can give me some insight!

Answers:
AWWW!! he is gorgeous!..and good for you for adopting!..the shelter people are right..he does look like he might have some Great Dane in him..i don't see any Shar-Pei at all...yeah i think there might be some shepherd in there...you can also order kits to get his DNA tested so you know exactly what he is...but if its not that important to you and people ask say "I am the good person that adopted a shelter dog. I love him and he has been a great companion. I don't really care what type of dog he is as long as he is happy and healthy" or something like that...or " he was a shelter dog..all we know is that his mom was a shar-pei"...but if none of this appeals to you just get his DNA tested.
Hope i wasn't too harsh on you..but the truth is you adopted a shelter dog(GO YOU!), you got him out of his misery(GO YOU!), and what you know is what you know and you cant change that except with an expensive DNA test..just be happy that you have your dog and he is happy and healthy...GOOD LUCK!
http://www.metamorphixinc.com
you can order a kit to have your dog's DNA tested to find out what breed it is
I have a GSD he deff has it in him. GSD that is.
AWE! I'm not sure, really but he is a cutie! with BIG feet, mayby some great dane somewhere in there?
Thank you for saving a pet!
He definitely looks like a Dane/Shar Pei. I think the shelter folks are right.
He does sort of look like a GSD too. Maybe he's a Shar Pei X Dane/GSD
Nobody ever said he was just two breeds togethor.
What a cutie!
There does look like a bit of great dane in him.
congrats on your new pal %26 hope you have many happy years together:)
You can get him DNA tested to find out for sure. But it looks to me somewhere like a dane.
He is so cute! I think that he has some German Shepherd Dog in him.
I'd say that German shepherd is a pretty good guess (and let's face it, even with a DNA test you're still coming down to a best educated guess...DNA testing can narrow the field considerably but they only have about 30 breeds and don't include some common breeds like Danes). At three months and a little over 30lbs, the size is about right for a large GSD. My GSD boy is 28" tall and 75lbs at just over a year and a half...he was around 30lbs when we brought him home at 14 weeks, my boy is pretty big but I think he'll stop growing before he becomes as gainormous as some GSDs I've met. Great Dane is possible (with a shelter dog of unknown origin anything is possible) but personally I would expect him to be a little bigger if that were the case.
I would say he looks like a German Shepard deffinately and mixed with a Great Dane, I don't see any Shar-Pei in him at all. Shar-Pei's are ugly as H*ll, if he had Shar-Pei in him his face would be REALLY short and he would have VERY loose skin. Think about it.

What breed is my dog? its a female?

Boxer Mix
Looks like an American Bulldog to me. It could be a mix though.
looks like some type of boxer mix. Very cute though!
Bull dog...maybe?
its a boxer mix, how cute!
looks like a boxer mixed with a bull [bull dog, pit bull]
i would say its a staffy cross boxer
She looks like a Boxer, she's got Boxer in her if she's mixed.
ya she looks like a boxer mix
yeah it looks like a boxer mix but mostly a boxer
it looks like a boxer and/or pit bull mix
My guess is boxer/pit mix.
She is a boxer cross American bull dog i think. She is gorgeous by the way.
boxer mix.
She is a cutie! Did you get her from a shelter or was she a stray you picked up?
She looks slightly like a boxer and a slighty like an american Staffordshire Terrier.
Has she even been to the vet? A vet would be able to tell you more what she could be. It's also a good idea just to get her checked over and make sure she's up to date on shots.
well technically its a mutt.. any dog without registration papers cannot be refered to as any breed...
looks rather terrier like - terriers are noted for being chewers and diggers.
She looks like she is part Boxer. She is a very pretty girl.
Is she part staffie?
shes definately part boxer
she has some other bully breed in her too
american pit bull terrier
american bull dog
american staffordshire terrier
i would say its a boxer, pit bull mix
its a boxer i dont now if its a mix though cause boxers put there ears back like that when they are happy but if she croops her ears forward then its a boxer because tmixs cant it complicated
hope i helped
looks to have boxer and/or pit bull mix. some type of mastiff
She kind've looks like a boxer/bulldog mixed. She's defiantly cuter than the boxer that lives down my street...although I might just not like him because him and my dog are not very good friends. :/
I think she is a boxer.
or a bull.
or half pitbull.
I think she is a mix of all those three.
SHE'S SO CUTE! It looks as if she's a boxer. [maybe mix] I have a boxer. Her name is Rosie.

What breed is my dog? (Pictures Included)?

I agree with everyone that said he's either a Jack Russell Terrier or a Rat Terrier, but he may also be a Toy Fox Terrier. I suggest you go to google and type in Toy Fox Terrier and alot of pictures will come up that look a lot like your dog. In the last picture you posted though, the dog on the right is the one that looks like it's a Chihuahua, not yours. Don't get me wrong though your dog is REALLY cute. I have a Toy Fox Terrier that looks just like yours, including the colors exept that mine is a female. Goodluck finding the exact breed!
God Bless! =]
I'd say Chihuahua/Terrier mix.
Sorry I can't be more specific.
he looks like he may have some rat terriar or jack russell in him
Chihuahua/Rat Terrier or Chihuahua/Jack Russel
definitely has some rat terrier in him!
Looks like Jack Russell Terrier to me.
Rat terrier mix or Jack Russell Terrier mix. Whatever he is he is adorable!
full blooded mutt imo
He looks like a jack russell terrier.
I have to agree with the Rat/Jack Russel Terrier crowd.
Doesn't look at all like a Chihuahua to me.
chiuauha/jack russel terrier mix it looks like.
definitely a chihuahau/rat terrier mix or a chihuahua/jack russel mix cute dog : )
jack russell terrier or a rat terrier one of the two

What Breed Is My Dog?

We think hes a Boxer mix but if you have any other assumptions let me know. He weighs about 15 to 20 pounds right now, and looks like hes going to get a lot bigger. I imagine he'll be a 50 to 60 pound dog. What else do you think hes mixed with? Heres his picture

All I can see in him now is boxer for sure, but I don't know what else. He's really cute though.
he is so cute he does look like he has boxer in him, maybe with a terrier kind of mix as well ,i want one
Pitbull, BOXER, and I think some kind of terrier by the look of his ears.
he looks nothing like a boxer but could be like 1/8 or something. he looks like some kind of terrier mix.
i think your dog is a pitbull
did you ask this question eariler it looks liek the same pup with the same read collar but i think you deleted it. but liek i said before boxer mix
It looks maybe like a pitbull, terrier, boxer mix. Its very cute!
my goodness, hes so so cute. I would venture to guess hes a boxer/pit bull mix? maybe just boxer though, but I don't think he's burebred. He's so sweet looking!
thats the cutest dog ever.
He may possibly be mixed with a pointer, they are average size and they have the spots, or flecks of color that your puppy has on his nose, I'm not sure, but I think it is a good guess ;)
Personally it looks alot like a pitt bull but I'm not a hundred percent but I've seen plenty and it sure looks like it.
OMG! Thats an even cuter pic than the one you posted the first time. I would think a pitbull mix. It will be easier to tell when he is older. He is just adorable! That baby needs to be on dog food labels.
i agree with you that he is a boxer mix, but i have no idea about any other breeds. sorry
Some kind of pit mix.
he looks part boxer and pitbull;
its hard to tell when their little, though
i would say boxer/ pitbull or boxer/ jack russel

What breed is my dog?

I adopted a pup from a local shelter. They told me she is half german shepherd/ half collie. But I dont know how sure they are. I will post a pic.
Answers:
where is the picture?
The breed of any dog that is half one thing and half another thing is ... a mutt.
Well normally the animal shelter is correct...but yeah post the pic :)
I'd say that it looks german shepherd/boxer.
But im sure the shelter is more correct than me. :)
whares the pic,
anyway u call ur dog a mutt
Cute pup! Looks a lot more like a GSD/APBT or GSD/Boxer mix.
Your puppy is a mutt...not one that is pure bred. The only way to know for sure what she's mixed with is to know her father and mother and the shelter people are only guessing unless they know for sure what breed the parents were. Having a mixed breed dog is a good thing because she's the best of whatever she's mixed with. Sometimes pure breed dogs have health problems associated with that breed. Just love your puppy and don't worry about what breed she is...she's just herself... unique in many ways.
i had two puppies that look exactly like that they are part boxer, shepard and lab mix the are great well trained dogs. they are the best dogs i have ever had have fun with your new puppy.
file:///C:/Documents%20and%20S...

i will send you a pick of mine
Whatever it is, it's adorable and you should already love it, probably after the first 5 minutes. Looks like it could easily be what they told you because a pup can look like either parent. I doubt that you are going to care what breed it is. If people ask just tell them what you think it is. You will ever be sure anyway! Best wishes with your new friend!
She looks like she is part Boxer and German Shepard. She could have some Border Collie in her, too.
its not a mutt a mutt is considered 3 or more different things, cutie
I would have to go with the most common answer she is so cute! But it looks like there is some boxer in the mix. As for being a mutt well my last dog was half GS and half Bassett she had the looks of a GS but the size more of a Bassett and was the smartest best dog I have ever had. Now I have a Pure Bred papered GS and although I am growing attached to her she is no where near as smart as my sassy was. So just because it is pure bred does not always mean better.

What breed is for me?

What Breed of Dog is the most intimidating looking, but with the softest heart and personality?
I want a dog that is fiersome to look at, but one who would more then love to be around kids and a small min pin.
Bottom line is, I dont want the anger, I just want the looks.

pitbulls...i have two and one of them is the biggest sweetheart and loves absolutely everyone and the other everyone is afraid of but loves me and others it trusts to death. perfect dog when it comes to this question mean looking/caring at heart
I used to have a boxer-rottweiler mix. He was the sweetest dog in the world, but he looked mean as heck! I would say a boxer.
boxer from a reputable breeder they are good with kids look fierce (well kinda) some are dog friendly and they are very gentle. But one from a bad breeder is the exact opposite
I have a boxer mix %26 everyone is afraid of her when I take her on a walk. Little do they know that the only thing they're in danger of is being slowly licked to death. ;-)

Edited to add: My boxer mix was my first dog, but we have recently adopted a new male dog that is very girly %26 prissy. He prances around %26 is often mistaken for the female dog! :) I too enjoy having exact opposites.
Well - outside of fiersome looks what else are you willing to tolerate?
I've been around plenty of Dobermans and I've yet to meet one that has a bite worse than it's bark. They're VERY good at appearing aggressive and scary.. yet all of the ones I've been around are as sweet as can be.
One of my good friend's has a Dobie and she plays with my Chihuahua and my dog beats her up.
She's also been around my 2 and 4 year old neices and has never been at all aggressive towards them. If anything she treats them like puppies and follows them around, making sure they're okay, licking their faces constantly.
However... they need a lot of exercise and at the very least a large backyard because they're full of energy.
Why the desire for a tough looking dog?
I would also definitely agree with a Boxer.. but I would stay away from German Shepherds.. they can be unpredictable.
Rottweiler definately! My grandpa owns a Rottweiler as a watch dog, she was trained by the police. Anway, she is the sweetest thing once you get to know her, although she looks fearsome and mean. If you don't get your Rottweiler trained to protect, I bet she will be sweet and kind. Make sure you get her from a breeder as a puppy. There's a great breeder in Iowa, but I'm not sure where. I think somewhere near Des Moines?
Also, look into German Shepards on petfinder.com, there are loads of sweet German Shepards on there! They are just the sweetest and kindest things! Good luck!
I would no doubt go for a boxer. I've got a boxer and an american bulldog. The bulldog has a little pissy side to him, but he's a male and it comes with the territory. My boxer is awesome. Everyone I've known that's had a boxer, they look mean and my parents always said.. "they can turn on you!" But they have no idea what they're talking about. I've had her for about 2-3 years, and she's never bitten, or even snapped at anyone. Just really make sure she's used to the human touch when she's young, and treat her like a child. Definately go for the boxer.
Oh, and what jordii said, a rottwieler? Unless you want a 120 pound dog, maybe.. She also said it was trained by the POLICE... not a normal human being
I would have to say either Mastiff or Boxer. they both are great with kids and are big kids at heart.
A great dane. People are scared to death of my two girls (both are about 180 pounds) and they are the biggest babies I've ever seen! They are fantastic with my 3-year-old and they even tolerate my Napoleonic wire fox terrier! They are wonderful, gentle, intelligent dogs but look intimidating because of their size...and the fact that they will look you right in the eyes and stare you down! LOL! If you decide on a dane, find a quality reputable breeder; they can have serious genetic health problems if carelessly bred. Good luck!
I have a Lab/Shepard mix. Very intimadating and very load bark but very sweet as well. Plus they are very smart. Typically Shepards and Labs make good police dogs and have been well know to be gentle when they should but very protective when they need to be.
One of my dogs looks so mean (not to me, but to others) and she is some sort of lab/pit mix... the funny thing is that she is THE lap dog. She loves people, loves kids. She is more a people dog than a dog/dog.
I can walk with her and feel safe. My other dog looks cute and friendly but she is the one is more protective and more barky.
You can go to any shelter and you will find a pit, or pit mix. I go to the shelter once a week to socialize with cats, but I go see the dogs with my mentor volunteer, and the dogs are so cute, but I am sure most people would think they look "scary"
www.petfinder.com
maybe an american bull dog.
A Doberman! I am on my second one and they are truly wonderful to have around kids. Make sure you get a pup, that way he/she will start fresh with your family and be very loyal and loving.
My Dobie looks so fierce and will be very protective and on alert with strangers until he sees that the person is a welcomed guest. Once that is established he is a big mush.
If I don't let my Dobie know that this person is welcomed, then he will be on alert the whole time. I've seen my Dobie keep unwelcomed tresspassers at bay until I give the it's ok command. It truly is amazing how loving and loyal they are to
their families.
I know you said you only wanted a dog that looks fierce, with a Dobie you get a dog that not only has the looks but is very loving and can back up his fierce look if need be!
First of all, you shouldn't base your choice in breed by what looks the meanest. Every dog has breed specific needs, and whether or not you can provide for those needs should be the basis of your decision. Try the breed selector at animal planet's web site. It will help to match you with dogs that are right for your lifestyle, and then you can go by looks from there.
Well most people say English mastiff's are very gentle, even though they appear fierce, but I wouldn't trust them, I love all dogs except bull/English mastiffs. Why? I witnessed my friend get attacked by one. So I don't recommend them.
Rotie's are okay too, but I don't have much experience with them
Great dane's are huge and are VERY gentle giants, I've actually SEEN great dane's let little kids ride on their backs
Doberman dogs are used as guard dogs often, but they truly are gentle giants, and personally, I think they are adorable, my neighbor has one and it's so friendly.
Pit bulls can be gentle too, but I wouldn't adopt a rescued one, they can be unpredictable, I'd get a young pup or an 8 week old puppy.
But I think the BEST dog you can get is a Labrador. Which I have. They are often used as police dogs, guard dogs, etc. But they are the BEST family orientated dog and they have a heart of gold. My lab is amazing, and I also recommend a yellow lab, like I have, because black labs and brown labs shed (so do yellow labs) but when they shed you can SEE the black and brown hair on the floor, the yellow lab's hair is harder to spot on the floor. My Pup is truly the best dog I will ever have and you should REALLY get one. They are also great hunting dogs, if you hunt, and they LOVE to play. You'll never get bored with a lab!
i read your responses and you have had some good answers. but somehow i see you with a wolf dog. i dont know why i just saw it my head when i read your question. wolf dogs are gorgeous, loving and intelligent..and rare! many people are taken back when they see one because they look wild. hey if your looking for a dog you can take my jack rustle....he is driving me inssssssaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnee...

cute cute cute!!!! its a very hard choice!! i would have to go for the terrier then the yorkie, but all three are fab
for sure teacup yorkie
The Tea Cup Yorkie is the cutiest breed, but I prefer the Brussel Griffons as the cutest breed in dogs.
number 2 cutest and entelligent. The Golden Retriever is another highly intelligent breed, useful as a guide dog for the blind. They are also hunters, family pets, and show dogs. Goldies tend to be friendly and good-natured, not known for hostility towards people or animals, or even obnoxious screamy children. This even temperament makes them a great family dog, especially with youngins around the place.
The Golden Retriever is a big dog with a big appetite, so it will need a lot of exercise, especially if confined to an apartment all day. They also shed TONS in the summer, so get ready to have dog hair cover your clothes, food, and everything in your entire house. Records on the breed's development date back to 1835 in Scotland, thanks to scrupulous gamekeepers in Scotland.
number 1 most cutest and intelligent....Bred primarily as a working gun dog, the Labrador Retriever is a gentle breed, with an outgoing nature and a ridiculously friendly temperament. Known for its "otter tail" (and its drool), this athletic dog can go from the hunt to the showroom to the family room with equal aplomb. It looks just as good after a shampoo as it does following a mudbath - a true Renaissance dog!
Because of their gentle natures, Labrador Retrievers make good pets when children or seniors are part of the household, although as pups they can get extremely wild and energetic. While they aren't aggressive, they do bark to keep the weirdos at bay. Keep in mind that Labs have big appetites and need lots of exercise, but they're big ol' friendly dogs. Hey, 150,000+ people can't be wrong . . .
i think shih tzus or poodles, or even mixed!!
http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x76/s...
that's my dog..a shih tzu poodle mix!
Fox Terrier
then
Teacup Yorkie.
(Although I think all dogs are cute. I don't think any dogs are ugly.)
But these are all adorable!
i think minature poodles ( or any poodle for that matter) are absolutely hideous. They are just so ugly.
Teacup yorkies are about the cutest thing i have ever seen though.
teacup yorkie then fox terrier

What breed dog would be good for my family?

lets see we live in a small house so we would need a small-ish/medium sized dog that doesn't need a TON of exersize. also a breed that is pretty smart and cuddly would be nice.
there are no little kids in our house. we're all 16 and older.
any suggestions?

Border Collie's are great dogs.
you should get a shih-tzu. they are good with adults and don't need much excersize
There is no way of really telling if your dog is good for you. Though big dogs may be scary, they are really gentle, and fun to have around.
Bichon Frise.
they are small cute and cuddly.
they have hair instead of fur so if anyone is allergic to dogs they wont be to these dogs. also you wont have to worry about them shedding because they dont shed. you have to groom them though.
Well you can get a poodle or just check out petfinder.com they heave all the info including pics.
good luck in your search .
Go to a dog pound or a rescue group. You'll surely find one there that will return your love ten fold. And they have lots of selections ages, sizes, colors etc. For you to choose from and they already have been up to date on shots and will or should come neutered or spayed if old enough at the time.
Go to petfinder.com
There are TONS of dogs that fit this description.
Just key in your zip code and follow the links.
Good luck!
I'm glad you gave some info with that question! I was going to suggest a medium size dog because i don't agree with small dogs around children. You don't want a medium to large dog in a small house, thats just not fair so the decision is a smaller dog with the right attitude. Ok, i would suggest something like a sheltie, pekenese, toy poodle(they don't shed), a lahsa-opso, miniature snauzier, or maybe a bassett. These are some of the most layed back small dogs i know of - don't want to name any that are real hyper in nature. Good luck!
Ok, take this quiz to find out what dog is best for you

Then, go to this website and rescue a dog that really needs a good home

I think yorkies are beautiful dogs, they're small and make great indoor pets, and don't need too much exercise. Very cute %26 cuddly too!
Another option would be a lhasa apso or shih tzu - Also smaller dogs %26 cute %26 cuddly!
Get an English Bulldog I have a 13 week old and OMG he is the best he makes me laugh everyday. They do not need alot of excersise they are very friendly and love to cudle but also very protective of their family.
