the dog would know but he/she cant tell us.

My dog does this too; happy doggy dreams, bet he's chasing cats!
probably
chasing a cat
a big juicy bone
a partner
and many more
may be anything.

dogs can dream happy dream, or sad ones...if you listen really closely to the breathing, you can tell when he's happy...plus he will wag his tail...when you hear a whimper, he's probably feeling like he's been left alone...
Do dogs dream? If you look at your dog while it's sleeping, sometimes you'll see its eyes move and twitch under its eyelids. Humans do this too, and we definitely dream. So researchers are almost positive that dogs have dreams too. But guess what? No one knows what dogs dream about. Maybe the next time your dog wakes up from a dream, you can ask it!
Anything, mine make a hell of a noise sometimes, when their asleep.
i'd love to know! Mine's a 4 month old lab, and he does a lot of moving about in his sleep. A few days ago he was fast asleep, when suddenly he just jumped up to a sitting position and started crying loudly. When me and my wife comforted him, he settled and went back to sleep.
I guess they have nightmares like we do.
I noticed that when i tell him off for, say, eating the furniture, he gets a sulk, but the next day he will do it again.
If i tell him off again, he will most likely have a disturbed sleep, and the next day will be well behaved. It's like he learns in his sleep!
Funniest thing he does while sleeping, he suddenly gets up, goes to another part of the room and sleeps again! It's like he's sleepwalking!
I have no way of knowing. Does anyone here? All we know is they dream. I just hope they are good ones.
Running, jumping, playing, eating, fighting, chasing. Anything at all. It's great when our dogs dream like that, makes us laugh.
