Answers:
make your own dog food...you can read the ingredients store foods have and leave out the ingredients you can't say...that will be the best thing...you know it's safe because you know what is going into it...there is a woman in wisconsin who started her own dog food store selling her homemade food, treats and such things...she won't feed her dogs store bought dog food ever again...
Honey, your going to have to pay the money.. im sorry...any amount of money is worth the life of your pet...he/she is worthy of expensive things ...just like urself.
Sorry to say, but you get what you pay for.
forget the price tag.
you should feed your dog the best
i feed mine on Eukanuba its expensive but i think its the bessstttt!!! my dogs loooveee ittt
: )
Why not tryout Chow, it fit with your budget and a lot of nutrition, for your pet.

you like what you like
Well, in my house we use iams...that's becuase the dog was alergic to other food
If you can only spend $10, then you will only find crappy food. The more it costs, the better the quality(usually). Try raising your price range to like $20-$25.
Good luck!
Beneful is a great dog food, there's no corn starch and it's full of nutrition. There's lots of vegetables, its great. A regular size bag is about $8.99-9.99.
iams
get ol'roy at wal-mart it is five dollars my dog loves it
Actually I would reccommend Beneful. If you can swing it, however, Science Diet is good, also. For outside dogs and bigger dogs, make sure whatever food you get is high in protein. Try going to your vet office and looking at their selection of food, they will be able to give you what you need, and if you can't afford that, they will tell you what is best for your dog.
your right Canidae is great but very expensive... But I feed my dogs.. one is on Purina One for Sensitive stomachs because she has food allergies and that is reasonable.. and my boxer puppy is on Nature's Recipe with lamb and rice .. NR is good with no fillers and as close to natural as we could find and it has no corn or by products.. no wheat flour or rice flour (what was on recall) and it runs at Petsmart about 13 bucks for 15 lbs... it comes in all flavors so just read labels and compare just like you would do your own food..
Good Luck i know its a chore
I don't know if you get Innova where you live, but that's what I use. It's about $28 for a big bag of it. I like it because it has a ton of protein in it which is great for the dogs coat and stops them from shedding too much. Also, it's made with things like alfalfa sprouts, apples, cottage cheese and like 4 or 5 different meats and absolutely no by-products. But I agree with the others who say you get what you pay for.
We use Feild Trail. We get at Dollar General. I know that's kind of a cheapy place but we get it because it has 22% soy and that's good for the dogs. The dogs love it and you shouldn't have to go out and buy expensive products. why not get something that doesn't have what you don't want and see if it fits your budget. I mean they eat other worse things than just by products and corn starch.

You can buy this in Wal Mart, my dogs love it and they are so shiny and beautiful and healthy ! And this brand had NONE of their products involved in that huge recall, and I think they are actually on the "good list" on the PETA website.
Merrick
Nature's Recipe
California Natural
Innova
Evo

All of these are fine.
If you spend a bit more on a higher-quality dog food, you can actually feed less because there will be zero fillers in the food, thus, more nutrition in a smaller portion!
You are smart to avoid the brands you listed because they are indeed full of crap and not good for any dog.
You can get a small bag of Merrick dry kibble for 11.99, not to mention at least six cans of wet food for 12.99.
Depending on what size dog you have, you can easily afford a great brand, even Canidae, if you just analyze the ingredients and the portions you should be feeding.
Why feed kibble at all? I really can't understand why people are so caught up in feeding their pets processed prepackaged food of extremely doubtful nutritional value.
I, and many others, choose to feed my pets on a prey model diet of raw meaty bones, offal and some table scraps. an increasing number of vet are recommending this natural diet too. This link is a great starting point for your research.
Eagle Pack Natural Formula!
This is a premium dog food with a reasonable price ($30/40-lb bag). Go to the website and read about this brand - they are the best!
Or try the BARF raw food diet - cheaper, but more time consuming.
