What dog would be best....?

I've wanted a dog for as long as I can imagine. but my mom says they're too much trouble. What dog would be the least high maintenese??
Answers:
Small pet dogs don't need as much exercise (walking/ play) and so you don't need to pent as muc in a day with them.Short hair dogs need no or little grooming / trimming and wash themselves very good so they almost never need a bath. Another thing to think about is about house training. I you buy or adopt a dog that isn't housebroken yet it's always easier to take a girl. Girl's always pee on the ground, male older dogs can start doing there business up against the furniture and walls. So when you take a girl dog you just remove the carpet (if possible) untill it's housebroken and no harm done!
For further advice on training you can always go to the library, ask your local vet or more experienced dog owners.
What kind of dog to take ? That's difficult to say ... A stray dog is just as beautifull and friendly as a pedigree dog. So going to a local animal shelter or pet shop is up to you. What kind of breed ? Well, that depends on what you expect from a dog: the look, it's character, . So yet again, the libary and internet is bog source of information !

none...they all need good care no matter how big or small, young or old, pure or mixed.
not a puppy!a lab or a big dog.big dogs have the biggest hearts!
Any dog will require a walk about 30-45 minutes per day - a bath once a week - nails clipped every couple of weeks and that is after they are over 2 years old. Then you have the vet visits and bills. I recommend that a person who gets a dog have access to $1000 in funds to cover unexpected vet bills (whether on credit or better yet in savings).
A dog that doesn't require a lot of grooming and that is low energy would be best. Maybe a American Bull Dog - they are large, but are generally really calm dogs. You want to meet the dog too - just because a breed is a certain way - you need to make sure that the dog is that way too!

there's really no best breed. It kinda depends if you will give it attention. Some dogs need a lot of grooming which will need money; others have a lot of energy and need to be outside regularly. It also depends in your dwelling. Do you live in an apartment? a house? Chihuahuas are usually good for people who enjoy a special small freind. Big dogs are really good for taking walks. you can search dog breeds and see which fits you best. would you like a poodle? boxer?chihuahuha?terrier? think about it...
my personal fave is the chihuahuha.
I myself have a dog. her name is Coco, and she is 6 years old. She is a Maltie-poo, an malteise and a poodle put together. Coco has been a sweet and calm dog since birth,(well, maybe she misbehaved and peed on the carpets for the first week) but overall shes been the best! All she really needs is to be taken out to urinate and be just walked around the block twice a day. Maltipoos are the least trouble, are so sweet, and usually dont bite. But if you want a dog, you have to remember to feed her everysingle day, periodicly depending on age! Hope this helped!
A fat one!
one thats not one that rides around with you all day like my grampas. a stay home dog... i think a dog like my friend a McNab, Border Collie, Blue Heeler Mix. Its very protective but it worrys about you more than anything in the world. You dont have to find that exact dog either cause my cuz'z dog is such a klutz and has a breed like that dog^. Well anyway that dog is so nice its the perfect one! Also cats have a high independents level. so they just need a cat bowl with food and water and a liter box and some love. They arent as much work as a dog but there you have it!
I hope you pick me for best answer!

No animal is low maintenance. They all have to be fed and watered every day. Walked more than once a day, played with each day, etc. You have to be willing to spend a lot of time with them. Also, there is the financial responsibility--they have to have shots and go to the vet and that can be costly.
Beagles, of course...
Dachshunds are low maintnance;
They have shorthair, wire-haired, and long-haired variety. The long haired isnt much trouble.
Chihuahua's are small; low-maintnance dogs, too.
all dogs are high maintenance . dont get a dog if you cant give it your all. get maybe a hamster.
