My dog (choclate lab 2 years old) )was fine and happy ALL day eating drinking going potty like he always did... He got really exited because my mom came over to visit then the next thing we know he falls over on his side, legs stiff pees a little and cant move his body or even make eye contact but is still breathing... a little after maybe 2 minutes he starts to have what looks like convoltions, with his mouth open and tounge hanging out (which his tounge is now white) he jerks his head forward and then lays back down he did it like 4 or 5 times with maybe 15 seconds in between each one. then just stopped breathing. It was all so fast... what happened? What could i of done? It all makes no sense he was a healthy dog up to date on all his shots he was like a kid in the family went every where with us! I fell i need to know what happened and if there was any thing i could of done.. we would of never made it to the vet, it happend so quick! If you can help thanks!

It could have been heart failure, it can happen at any age. I've lost two to it...one senior and one puppy. The puppy had a congenital heart defect. However, it does sound more like a seizure. He didn't get into anything did he...plants, chemicals, medications, etc? Poisoning can cause seizures and heart failure. The only way to know for certain is to have a necropsy done. I'm so sorry about your loss...

I'm not sure what caused it.
You could take your dog to the vet to get a check up and see if maybe he has a neurological problem or something else. Your veterinarian will be able to provide you with comprehensive information.
