What causes my dog's ear to turn inside out?

My dog has floppy ears and occasionally they will inexplicably turn inside out. What causes this? Anyone know?
Answers:
Both my dogs have pointy ears but it happens to them all the time also - when they shake their head or scratch their ears is when it usually happens. It's just because the cartilage in their ears is flexible and when they shake everything gets flopped around, then the ear just stays that way for a minute or so. It's no big deal!
well my dog has pointy ears and they also turn inside out thr isnt bone in their ear its cartlidge so if they lay on it the wron way it will turn inside out{we can turn her ears inside out when we want to!} feel his ears theres no bone!
lol hmm
mine dogs ears do it too.
i think its just because they r flappy they are easily moved.
What causes 60yo women to get droopy ladies? It just happens. It doesn't mean anything. (except you need a good plastic surgeon)
You dog is fine. The ears turn back. It just happens. In fact if he is prone to yeast infections turn them up and leave them to get air in there a few times a day.
Its the way the ears are folded. Dogs with floppy or half pricked ears this happens to often. When they shake their heads or roll on the floor the ears some times fold back and will turn inside out its just something that happens.
Nothing to worried your dog have flexible ears
