What do i do about a sore behind my dogs ear?

He has a lump behind his ear with a hole on top and looks like a maggot or parasite in it. How can i treat this until i can get him to the vets?
Answers:
Apply pressure to each side, gently squeezing to see if there is a worm inside of the wound. If so, dig it out and alcohol the wound as much as possible. You need to keep Frontline on the dog. See the vet for some antibiotics.
Rabbits get these at times too as do other "outside" critters. You need to keep them covered with insecticide if at all possible.
he should see the vet on monday ...maybe you should allow the dr to treat it...
Try cleaning with hydrogen peroxide until you can get to the vet, but don't wait too long, he needs to be seen asap.
Well the only thing I can think of is medication from the vets. Just wait until the vets, he'll be fine. You don't want to do anything to an injury on a dog when you don't know what you're doing.
Its tapeworm, theres not a lot you can do without medicine, so get him to the vet as soon as possible, and be sure to wash your hands a lot so that you dont get it. use disinfectant, anti-bacterial soap
take it to the vet
you can put neosporin on it until you see the doctor.
See if he will let you soak it with warm water and a liitle salt. Dip a cloth in the solution, and try to clean it. Also, you can put an antiobiotic cream, like neosporin, on it. But have a vet check it out tomorrow.
