What could be wrong with my dog? He has trouble getting up on his back legs and his tail tilts downward.?

My boyfriend and I are dog sitting for his friends. The dogs have been happier than ever, but today my boyfriend noticed that one of the dogs is acting very weird. We thought that he could be sick, but his nose is wet. So what could be wrong with him? He has trouble getting up on his back legs and his tail is tilted downward instead of upward. Could the dog be constipated?
Answers:
He and the other dogs could have been playing and he got hurt.
Take him to a vet! It could be a spinal cord injury ~ for example, the dog fell off the couch!
VET immediately.
He could have hurt his back or could be suffering from arthritis. I would recommend calling a vet and asking their advice, you really do not want the dog to be in pain. This sounds WORSE than constipation, he could have slipped a disk in his back, hurt his hips or worse.
Hopefully, your boyfriend's friends gave you the name and number of the vet they use, and left a credit card number on file with the vet.
Contact the owners of the dog and ask for their permission to take the dog to the vet ASAP.
Take him to the vet now.
He could, like stated above have a spinal cord injury. or any neurological disorder.
He could also have eaten something bad.
another possibility is ear infection, so his balance is off, or ear mites, or vertigo.
Please do not wait any longer, call the vet and inform them you are on your way with him, and give as much info as possible, so they are prepared when you arrive.
I hope all will be well for him and for you.
